Preparation for this role came at the age of thirteen where he was saved during a Spring Revival of Brookhaven Church of the Nazarene in Atlanta, Georgia. He was entirely sanctified to the will of God during a summer youth camp service.

In 1970, while attending the Nazarene Youth Congress at Estes Park, Colorado, he had an intensely personal experience during a time of early morning devotions when he became aware of God speaking to his spirit calling him to full-time ministry.

Currently, he is learning to orient himself to a greater realization of and appreciation for the inexhaustible adequacy of God's resources in grace. He is relaxing more and simply allowing the peace of Christ to rule his heart and the life of HIS church. There is a sense of well-being, real worth, and deep joy in the center of God's will

Pastor Gary is married to Tammy. They have two grown children and two grandchildren. Their son, Andrew Hutcheson, is married to Wendy. They live in New Albany, Ohio. Their daughter, Heather King, is married to Curtis. Curtis and Heather have two children, Joshua and Elizabeth, and they live in Yulee, Florida.
